Enthusiasm – The Real Deal

Enthusiastic People

Okay, so far this week you’ve thought more about enthusiasm than you have spent time being enthusiastic… We’ve been filling the tank all week to get ready for today…

So here’s the real deal… This week you’ve made up your mind to experience life as an opportunity, so now it’s time to walk the walk and begin seeing just how far powerful Enthusiasm really is…

Here’s the pattern (and I’ve seen it a million times): “You’ve made up your mind to live an enthusiastic life, you tried to be enthusiastic in a few different situations which aren’t normally enthusiastic for you, you feel a little better, but somehow it’s flat.”

Here’s the problem, and the solution. “Enthusiasm flows to where enthusiasm is blocked.”

This week you spent some energy building enthusiasm into your life, now it’s time to remove the dams holding it back and open the enthusiasm flood gates… But be prepared, once you open the flood gates of enthusiasm and it really starts to flow, nothing is ever going seem the same again…

When enthusiasm is really flowing in your life every single aspect of your life is going to start to take on a new found joy and richness… When Enthusiasm is flowing, long workdays race by in the blink of an eye, hard tasks become games and puzzles to solve and enjoy, unexpected problems become gifts and opportunities, and people who once hurt your feelings become your secret admirers and sincerest fans…

So how do you open the flood gates!?!

So here’s the trick to sharing enthusiasm…

Here it is, listen closely (read closely?) “Enthusiasm Flows to Where Enthusiasm is Blocked.” To release Enthusiasm in all its glory into every aspect of your life, all you need to do is remove the blocks!

Here’s where they always are: “The little undone things”…

Small, often trivial tasks which reside undone in our lives block the flow of energy, enthusiasm from reaching all the big important things. This is precisely why we only really feel enthusiastic around very big situations… The little things left undone, unfinished, lacking but needing closure are blocking enthusiasm, hoping, waiting, longing to be completed.

Enthusiastic about the little things

Yes, a letter you needed to write 6 months ago, but didn’t feel like doing – yet you know still needs be done is blocking your enthusiasm for cooking dinner. A phone call you needed to make, a closet that needed to be cleaned, the glove box of your car that you keep promises to organize, a friend you offended and wanted to mend things with, a refrigerator that needs defrosting but seems less important than what you’re doing right now, all the countless little (often simple and easy) tasks that you wanted to finish but left undone are precisely where you enthusiasm is flowing to…

It’s easy to be enthusiastic about big exciting things, to be hopeful about the future possibilities… But to truly unlock the floodgates of enthusiasm into your life all you need to do is tend to the little things as they come up, and tend to them enthusiastically!

Enthusiastic about a vacation? Easy…

Enthusiastic about cleaning the toilet? Not so easy…

All week long you’ve been building enthusiasm, building a surplus and stockpile of it, now it’s time to put that supply to work unlocking the endless supply of Enthusiasm which will be as the wind in your sails racing you forward to any goal you ever hoped to accomplish…

All you need to do, is tend to any, and every undone little detail in your life, enthusiastically!

So as we head to weekend I ask you for the third and final time:

“If not now, when?”

Have a great weekend and I’ll see you again on Monday!
